2 Affordable Everyday Nude Lips

I'm not a major lip product person. I've found it super difficult to find what works for me, and it's only recently I've began to delve a little more into what actually suits me. I suit neutral browny pinks, with either a shimmer or glossy finish. I really don't suit matte, unless I am wearing super high-coverage foundation, which I don't tend to go for anymore on the daily. In the past month I have found not one but two of my everyday go-to lip products which are both from Italian origins incidentally!

Kiko Milano Pencil Lip Gloss (£3.90)

I love Kiko, I find that it is one of the few stores that actually sell more quality items on the high-street for an affordable price. This find is no exception as it delivers on every aspect. The pigmentation is great, it's not too intense that you have to use a mirror to apply it, but it is also noticeable when you have it on. It has a cream finish which lasts a good few hours and I find that it is so comfortable on the lips and keeps them moisturised too, which is good for these colder months. Another aspect that sold me on this product is that it doesn't leave any residue on the lips once it's faded away, which is always a plus. The colour is a pinky nude with a hint of shimmer, which is not chunky and just adds some depth to the lips. I am just in love with this product, I have been using it religiously and have been taking it with me because it's so travel friendly. Kiko has a selection of shades, the one I use in is in shade 11!

Catrice Cosmetics Beautifying Lip Smoother (€4.99)

While I was in Italy two weeks ago, I spotted this product in an Italian cosmetics shop. It called to me because it looked like a dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter, which retails for £18.00. I have to say, it appears like a really good dupe! It's light on the lips without being sticky, and you can actually see the colour pigment. It adds a sheen to the lips, rather than a gloss, which makes this product sophisticated and very wearable for any occasion. I personally like to line and fill in my lips with a lip liner and then go in with this gloss as a finishing touch. I love the applicator too, it's a sponge which evenly apply's the product and just feels really nice! All in all, this product is really nice, for touch ups and even for finishing a look off, it's easy and just something I have been reaching for lately!

Lately, I feel like my commitment to my lips has improved due to these two products. I would highly recommend them as they both add something to the lips without being too high maintenance or too over the top.

Every Girl Should Have: An Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys!

Eyeshadow palettes come in many different forms, shapes and sizes, I'm obsessed with them, and I think every girl should own at least one...

People tend to vary when it comes to this, either they will buy lots of palettes, or just single eyeshadows, or sometimes both (naturally, I fall under the 'both category!'), but I think if we strip everything down we can actually get everything we need in just one palette.

The ones I would recommend the most is Urban Decays Naked Palettes (£38/12 shadows), I only have the first one but I don't feel a great need in getting the others, because I know that this one will still get used the most. I feel like every women, at some stage in their life, should purchase one of these because it will get used a lot, the quality is the best, I've had mine for just under two years now and I use it more than once a week. I think what makes a palette like this so good is that eight colours are daytime appropriate but there are four shades which can make a look smokier and more evening appropriate, there is also a mix of shimmer and matte which is also handy. It just the best palette to have, especially when you are traveling - you are prepared for everything.

The Kiko Queen of Hearts (€14.90/4 shadows) is a quad and another good basic palette to have, again because it's so easy to mix up - for a daytime look you can put a wash of gold on, or just define the crease of your eye more with a darker shade. For the evening, you can merge the two above together, this palette also has a red shade which I think is so pretty and sometimes it's nice to have a colour which is so versatile. Quads are even better for traveling, because they are smaller, I think quads like this Kiko one are great value for money because I actually wear all the shades!

Palettes are great value for money, usually buying all the shadows individually would cost more and also would be way easier to lose and forget about. I have this problem with my M.A.C shadows - I have two which I really regret buying in the pot form and it usually hides in the bottom of my make-up bag. 

I mentioned these two palettes because I think they are great quality and value for money, versatile in terms of colours and also finishes. Every Girl Should Have: A Wooden Hair Brush

Hey Guys :) 

So today's post is another 'Every Girl Should Have' :) All the products I mention in this mini series are all obvious and simple but still I think they should be mentioned because the basics are the most important right? 

The product that deserves a mention is: a wooden hair brush. Now, although this seems like a weird choice, the fact that the comb is wooden is a key part of this review. This is why you should invest in one: 

1) Conditioning -  Wooden brushes naturally condition your hair because the bristles distribute the natural oils in your hair evenly making them softer and healthier.

2) Static - Wooden brushes don't produce static electricity in your hair since the bristles are wooden! so you will always have a good hair day!

3)Breakage - Since the bristles on a wooden hair brush are wide and gentle it is less likely to break your hair when you comb through it - helping it in the long run.

4) Massaging -  Wooden hair brushes have gentle bristles, again which are wide, this means when you run it through the scalp it has a nice massaging effect - making hair brushing a more enjoyable experience. 

5)Longevity - Wooden brushes generally last a lot longer than plastic hair brushes - this is because it's stronger and made out of better material. I have always found that the bristles on a plastic brush always lose the nib (which has the massaging effect) and so scratches my scalp instead of massaging it. 

6)Types - Wooden brushes come in all different shapes and sizes depending on your hair requirement - so you have no excuse not to have one in your life!

I got mine from Amazon a while ago and I have never looked back. They honestly just feel so luxurious which is weird to say since it's just a wooden hair brush. If you haven't tried a wooden hair brush then I urge you to buy one since it doesn't actually have any bad qualities in my opinion.

Every Girl Should Have: Lip Care

Hey guys :) 

So it's time for another 'Every Girl Should Have' post and today I am going to be talking about Lip Care! I know it might be kinda dull but the thing is: it is something that every girl should have :) 

Lip Care is so important since the skin on your lips are really really thin and so they need all the help they can get. I feel like practically any problem concerning your lips can be solved by some sort of lip balm. Personally, I use a lip balm or butter twice a day - at night I totally load up so my lips will be smooth in the morning. 

These are two that I enjoy:

The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter (£4.00/10ml)

Okay so technically this is a lip butter, but to me it's the same thing, anything that helps sooth and soften is kinda a balm right? I love love love this product, I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't got any actual problems concerning their lips but just want something nice to soften and condition their lips. On the lips it looks kinda like a clear gloss but without all the fuss and stickiness - which is why I love it so much. It also smells divineee :) 

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm (£2.99)

I was totally on the Baby Lips bandwagon when it came out - I actually even remember getting my first one in America last August. I feel like Baby Lips are like to the easy go-to lip balm, in that they just feel so nice on the lips and are available in whatever form you like, so if you want a hint of colour then there is a baby lips for you out there. My version is called 'peach kiss' and is a peachy nude shade with a slight shimmer to it, I love it, to me it's like the vamped up version to The Body Shop one just because of that. Again I feel like everyone could use this product and I've never encountered a person who hates the original formula. Another bonus - it has SPF :) which is always important :)

Top colour: Baby Lips, Bottom balm: Chocomania lip butter.

Tip
If you want to exfoliate your lips then I would mix whatever lip balm I am currently using with some sugar. I do this by loading up the lip balm on my lips already and then rubbing sugar on to my lips straight after (be sure to do this by the sink as it might get messy). The amount of sugar you put on is dependant on how strongly you want to exfoliate (a little sugar means a gentle exfoliation etc), you can cater this however you like.

Every Girl Should Have: Teasing Comb

Hey Guys :)
So I have been loving thinking about products for this series of what I think every girl should have :) and today I am going to introduce you to a hair saviour, the teasing comb :)

I think every girl needs this - we all have those days where our hair isn't co-operating and just seems flat and lifeless, for me this usually happens on the day after I wash my hair, and dry shampoo can sometimes give volume but for me it doesn't hold it (especially if you have thick long hair, it's just too heavy). This product is a Godsend because it teases hair from the root, meaning the volume will stay longer, I also like how you have control over products like this, so I can control how 'big' I want my hair to look :p 

The end of the teasing comb is pointed which is also amazing as you can part your hair with ease - it's so useful, I cannot even express how long it took me to part my hair with my usual comb, but this really does it in seconds. 

I love this product, because it's cheap, fast and effective and I have no regrets for buying it :) I bought my Babyliss one from Amazon for £3.99, which you can buy here.

Every Girl Should Have: Hair Clamps

Hey :)

So today I wanted to start doing a series of what I think every girl should have, these things will be the most practical and most basic of things, but still very necessary and most of all - life saving :P 

Today's mention is hair clamps, I didn't just stumble across these one day - I was actively searching them out. I first came across these at the hairdressers like 5/6 years ago and the hairdresser would just stick these in my hair whilst she was doing her thing and they just felt amazingly secure! I actually purchased mine like a year or two ago and honestly I still haven't lost them all because I make sure to keep them where I can see them :P It's just perfect for whatever you want to do, for example, sectioning off your hair when you are blow-drying, curling or straightening, when you wash your face it works as well as a hair tie and whenever I am at home it will be in my hair just keeping the majority of my hair out of my face. 

I purchased mine from Boots and they give you six in a pack, 3 white and 3 black, for £3.59, which I think is a really good price for something that you will use everyday without fail.
